She was predeceased by: her parents, Hiram Leonard and Ruth Leonard; her daughter Julianne Mitchell Stern; and her sister Susan Martin. She is survived by: her son James Austin Mitchell, Jr. (Debra); her grandchildren, James Anthony Mitchell (Courtney), Callie Ray Stern and Richard Edward Stern II; her great grandchild Theadora Stern; and her sister Karen Houge.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sorrells Funeral Home (1315 W Lawrence St, Slocomb, AL 36375). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home (1315 W Lawrence St, Slocomb, AL 36375). A burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Memory Cemetery.
