Richard leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Richard’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Richard will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, W. D. Cooley and Nell Blackmon Cooley. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Weatherly Cooley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, numerous extended family members, church family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Smiths Station Baptist Church (2460 Co Rd 430, Smiths Station, AL 36877). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
