He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Yancey and Leona Yancey (Whitt); and his brothers, Joe Yancey and Larry Yancey. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Yancey; his son Scott Yancey; his grandchildren, Jaret Yancey, Kesley Yancey (Braxton McClelland) and Kali Yancey Ponstein (Aaron); his siblings, Shirley Cunningham, Betty Painter, Lester Yancey and B. C. Yancey; his siblings-in-law, Jerry Painter, James LeCroy, Betty Phillips, Joyce LeCroy and Joyce Yancey; and his daughter-in-law Paula McLaurin.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Snead Funeral Home (170 Richman Dr, Snead, AL 35952). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Antioch Church of Christ (126 Earl Snead Rd, Snead, AL 35952).
In lieu of flowers the family has requested for donations to be made to Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
