He is survived by: his wife Andrea Benton; his children, Gary Benton (Pam), Crystal Johnson (Sammy), Chris Higginbotham (Suzanne) and Deborah Burrell; his grandchildren, Kaden, Gaven, Taylor of Devin, JT, Zach, Kathryn and Tommy; his great grandchildren, Kalani, Leai, Kali of Liam, Mi, Jaylon, Beorn, Gemma, Rohan, Trey, Faith and Eve; and his sister Phyllis O'Daniel (Reed). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery (34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577).
