He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Watley and Mary Watley; and his siblings, Raymond Watley and Carol Scott. He is survived by: his wife Floy; his children, Leah Goolsby, Walter Logan Watley, Jr. (Michelle), Theron Watley, Kevin, Jody and Jeffrey McLeod; his grandchildren, Theodore Goolsby, Kaitlin Willis, Troy Watley, Iain, Hannah and David McLeod; and his siblings, Dorothy Royal and Richard Watley (Judy). He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
