He is survived by: his sons, James Curtis Rider (Teresa) of Obrien, FL and Robin Rider of Ashford, AL; his siblings, Dennis Rider (Donna) of Stapleton, AL, Bill Rider (Pam) of Stapelton, AL, Eddie Rider (Sherrie) of Atmore, AL, Maxine Smith (Jim) of Virginia, Mildred Jerkins (Edmond) of Pigeon Forge, TN, Debbie Fogg (Sonny) and Edna Mae Jerkins (Glen) of Rosinton; his stepchildren, Thomas Raines (Shannon) of Georgetown, KY, Charlie Raines of Stapleton, AL, Penelope DeMont of Stapleton, AL and Michelle Merchant; his grandson Sean Curtis Rider; and his stepgrandchildren, Joshua Sulivan, Jamie Raines, Ivy Raines, Tommy Raines, Jr., Timothy Wood, Dustin Burroughs, Zack Burroughs, Destiny Leggett, Jaylen Williams and Journee Williams.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
