He was predeceased by: his parents, Montez Denton and Clifton Ward (Eva Nell); his wife Gladys Ward; and his siblings, Barbara Dillard and Herman Ward.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Ward (Lisa) and Teresa Hoover (Mark); his grandchildren, Tisha Gravitt (Chad) and Chris Ward (Emily); his great grandchildren, Chance, Noah and Aaden Gravitt; his siblings, Betty Beasley, Joyce Trenthem (John), Ruby Brooks (Bill), Norma Bumgarner (Michael), Eva Jones (Bryan), Kim Austin (Ronnie) and Paul Ward (Linda); and his close friend Leonia Kilgore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Valley Funeral Home - Stevenson (1214 Kentucky Ave, Stevenson, AL 35772). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
