He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert McCollum and Sarah McCollum; his wife Nettie McCollum; his children, George Gilbert, Jerry G, Judy Kay Howell and Lois Ann Kennedy; and his great grandchild Noah Gregory Ruffin.
He is survived by: his sister Sheila Gunter; his grandsons, Eric Ling, Justin Ling, Colby Ling, Daniel McCollum, Brian McCollum and Casey McCollum; his siblings, Patricia Little of Hamilton, MS and Jim McCollum of Surprise; and his children, Johnny Lee McCollum (Karen) of Franklin, KY, Billy Joe McCollum of Amory, MS, Linda Gail Isbell (Donnie) of Greenwood Springs, MS and Margaret Carol Vaughan (Lavies) of Amory, MS. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
