It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Eugene Simmons of Sylvania, Alabama, who passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley Simmons; and his parents, Willie and Cora Lee Simmons (Shirley Simmons Brothers). He is survived by: his children, Lisa Matheny (Bobby) of Orlando, FL, Steve Simmons (Tracy) of Sylvania, AL and Terry Simmons of Lineville, AL; his adoptive son John Everett of Lineville, AL; and his grandchildren, Chris Simmons, Stephanie Levin (Mati), Jason Simmons (Meredith), Jonti Cronk (Ben), Maggie Simmons, Kristen Rose (Dusty) and Kory Allmond. He is also survived by 11 Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404-2805).
