She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Bates and Flossie Bates; her husband Benjamin House, Jr.; her grandfathers, Floyd and Grady Hayes; and her brothers, Danny Bates and Ricky "Grizzle" Allen.
She is survived by: her children, J. D. House, J. C. House (Dawn), Teresa Rowe (Tony) and Rebecca Williams (Danny); her sister Judy Griffith; and her friend Bill Rainey. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cosby Funeral Home Chapel (Formerly Talladega Funeral Home). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
