He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtis Carr and Ed Carr; and his brother James "Bub" Carr. He is survived by: his wife Leslie Carr; his children, Candace Lanier (Dylan), James Carr (Lauren), Caitlyn Knight (Drew) and Jessica Carr; his grandchildren, Wade, Eastyn, Reese, Blakely and Bristol; and his sister Cheryl Cooper (Snook). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Talladega.
