He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Knight and Sara Knight; his son Darrin Patterson; his sister Joy Pressley; and his son-in-law David Mitchell.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Knight; his children, Kenneth Guy Knight (Tammy), Kippy Andrew Knight (Allison), Kelly Jo Knight, Lori Mitchell and Lisa Walton; and his siblings, Guy L. "Jimmy" Knight (Darla) and Kathy Slick (Tom). He is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
