He was predeceased by: his parents, George O'Neal and Nancy Jane Gunn of Reeltown, Alabama.; his wife Peggy Sue Meadows Gunn; his grandson Russell Gunn; his great grandchild Mackenzie Gunn; and his sisters, Blondene Sterud and Betty Jean Wells.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Gunn (Jane), Allen Gunn (Faith Ann), Stacey Gunn (Dana) and Melinda Poole (James); his grandchildren, Wes Gunn (Amanda), Brandi Hunter, Alison Lubin, April Weldon, Joshua Poole (Logan), Lance Gunn (Shelby), Luke Gunn (Brittney), Caleb Poole (Kelli) and Lindsey Wesson (Taylor); and his stepgranddaughters, Summer Darnell (Jay) and Stephanie Bedsole.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Et Reeltown Baptist Church (16963 AL-49, Notasulga, AL 36866). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Reeltown.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions at your local Baptist Church or to medical missions in Malawi, Africa, that the family supported for over 20 years through online giving at https://www.chikondihealth.org..
