He is survived by: his wife Phoebe Thompson; and his children, Dan Allen Thompson, Jr., Charles Clayton Hannah, Keith Evan Thompson, Sr., Edward Lee Thompson, Dana Dunn (Timmy) and Donna Dungan (Lavon). He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
