He was predeceased by: his parents, O. Y. Harvell, Jr. and Lula Mae Smith Harvell; his wife Clarice Newton Harvell; his son Johnny Marcus Harvell, Sr.; and his siblings, Daisy Pearl Harvell Kreige, Dan Harvell, Gray Harvell and Porter Harvell.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Don Harvell (Dinah), Jerry Len Harvell (Gwen) and Angela Smith (Robbie); his siblings, Clarence Harvell, Russell Harvell, Dennis Harvell, Annie Louise Williams, Mae Harvell Jenkins and Inez Harvell Nelson; his grandchildren, Brandon Harvell, Johnny Harvell, Jr. (Amy), Andrea Childree (Derrick), Elizabeth Harvell and Allison Harvell; and his great grandchildren, Dillon Harvell and Hannah Harvell.
