Rex Rush Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Rex Rush (Thomasville, Alabama). Rex, born on May 31, 1936, passed away on September 13, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Rush and Bertha Huggins Rush. He is survived by: his brother Harold (Patricia Counselman Rush); his grandson Thomas Smith; his children, Charles Richard Rush, Theresa Novem (Jay), Valerie Ward (John) and Beth Hanks (Scott); his grandsons, Trey Emmons and Samuel Hanks; his great grandchildren, Joshua Smith and Lucas Smith; his friends, Ken Pugh and Rusty Bishop; and his caregivers, Rex, Susan Rhodes, Meagan Knight, Lori Knight and Jennifer Knight. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bashan Baptist Church (14177 Tallahatta Springs Rd, Thomasville, AL 36784). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations of Bibles to the Clarke North Gideon Memorial Bible fund or Bashan Baptist Church.
