With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Gibson of Thorsby, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 15, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lacey "Doc" Hatcher and Hazel Jones Hatcher; and her sisters, Linda Sue Hatcher Rawls (Bob) and Lucy Marie Hatcher. She is survived by: her husband Briggs Lee Gibson; her children, Briggs "Cameron" Gibson (Janis Caudle Gibson), Christie Gibson Messer (John Thad Messer) and Nancy Gibson Moore (Joel Donahue Moore); her grandchildren, Michael Brandon Beam, Autry Rebekah Sutcliff (Joshua David), Briggs Forrest, Nathan Donahue Moore (Rachel Greene), Abigail Marion Moore and Emily Grace Messer; her great grandchildren, Jackson Lee Beam and Easton Alexander Beam; and her brother James Stroud Hatcher (Karen). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
