He is survived by: his family, Red and Barbara Lane; his wife Maxine McIlwain; his children, Lane Parnell, Wade Parnell, Lisa Barnes and Toni Busby; and his stepchildren, Jonathan Moss and Monica Taylor. He is also survived by Four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and loving friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, July 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, July 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lathan Funeral Home (17484 Jordan St, Chatom, AL 36518). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 25th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Of God Cemetery.
