He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry and RoseAnn McMillan Locklear; his wife Shirley G. Locklear; his daughter Patricia Knott; and his stepdaughter Pamela Gilmore.

He is survived by: his sons, Jimmy Patrick Locklear (US Army Vietnam) and William Henry Locklear (Jennifer) of New Market, AL; his stepson Ted Gilmore of Colorado; his daughters, Betty Barrow of North Carolina and Lisa Clifford of England; and his stepdaughter Donna Bailes of Madison, AL.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors or to The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA.
