He is survived by: his wife Norma "Dean" Meharg Smith; his daughter Julie Kathryn Smith Jones; his son-in-law Chuck Jones; and his grandchildren, Harrison Jones of Huntsville, Hayden Jones of Huntsville and Anna Kathryn Jones of Huntsville.
