He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Alvin Newell and Bertha Mae Franklin Newell; his brother Bob Newell; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Hector, Hollis Williams, Anne Newell and Tillie Newell.
He is survived by: his children, Shane Newell, Amber Poelman (Andy) and Laura Horn (Mark); his siblings, Al Newell, Sammie Hector, Nel Stockton (James "Sonny") and Jean Williams; and his grandchildren, Rosie, Charlotte, Ellie, Annie, Blake and Madison.
