He is survived by: his wife Delores; his children, David (Karen Messick Avery) of Vacaville, California. and Diana Avery (Jerry Slayton) of Troy, Alabama.; and his grandsons, Kyle Avery of Chicago, Ethan Montgomery of Montgomery and Taylor Montgomery of New York City.
