James Howard Carr Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Howard Carr of Troy, Alabama, who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Carr and Earlene Carr; his former wife Janie Elaine Comer Carr; his brothers, Benny Carr and Steve Carr; and his brother-in-law Benny Gabbard.
He is survived by: his wife Deabron Knight Carr; his sons, Kevin Carr (Patricia) and Kelly Carr; his granddaughters, Kayla Carr, Eden Groder (Luke) and Kasey Carr; his great grandchild Violet May Groder; his siblings-in-law, Linda Carr Audrey Gabbard, Hubert Comer (Marilyn), Paul Knight (Joanna), Steve Wilkes (Sandra) and Tommy Scarborough (Patsy); and his close friends, Terry, Vicki McPherson, Dick and Lori Freeman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (5595 FL-4, Baker, FL 32531). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at the Adams Cemetery.
