He was predeceased by: his parents, L. A. Tillery and Lillie Jean Tillery; his grandparents, Larkin, Iona Tillery, Eugene and Lillie Best; and his sisters, Gail Gladney and Dorothy Bunch.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Golson; his children, Penny Child (Mo) of Elba, AL and Timothy Blair (Jonathan); his sisters, Karen Griffin (Stefan), Theresa Byrne (Dan), Phyllis Mini, France and Elizabeth Dyess of Crystal Springs, MS; and his grandson Levi Childs of Elba, AL.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends.
