It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Jane Brooks of Troy, Alabama, who passed away on March 14, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Herman E. Brooks, Sr.; her son Herman Edwards Brooks, Jr.; her siblings, William Durwood Keys and Carolyn Randall; and her granddaughters, Lisa Marie Hester and Christine Hernandez.

She is survived by : her children, Lanette Singleton, Priscilla Walker (Alvie), Luther Marion Brooks and Dana Talbott; her grandchildren, Adam Hester, Michelle Walker, Chad Walker, Madison Walker, Skyler Walker, Livvie Walker, Thomas Brooks, Michael Talbott, Brook Talbott, Gary Wayne Brooks and April Brooks; her great grandchildren, Austin Walker (Tori), Blake Baker, Abby Adams, Jeremy Hester, Miya Hernandez, Alixe Hernandez and Wyatt Talbott; and her great great grandchild Noah Walker.
