He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Clay Nelson and Lucille Patterson Nelson; and his siblings, Doyle Nelson, Glenn Nelson and Hilda Nelson Rowlette.
He is survived by: his wife Gay Dawn Horne-Nelson; and his siblings, Patricia Nelson Seal, Warren Nelson and Dwight Nelson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
