He was predeceased by: his parents, E. Hackney, Sr. Hackney and Helen Martin Hackney; and his brother Glen Martin Hackney. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Wilson Hackney; his sons, E. Hackney III, John Wilson Hackney (Sarah) and James Patrick Hackney; his sisters, Helen Jean Brock and Rosemary Hackney Cook-Davis; and his grandchildren, Marin Wilson Hackney and Milla James Hackney. He is also survived by nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa.
