He was predeceased by : his parents, Alex and Hester; and his siblings, H. A., Jimmy, Maurice, Billy, Frankie and Mary Ruth.

He is survived by : his wife Wanda Pierce Horton; his children, Matt, Michael, Tim Horton and Heather Horton; and his siblings, Ed Horton and Betty Cordell. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
