He was predeceased by: his parents, Carel Dean Simpson and Doris Simpson; and his siblings, Jerry Taylor, Jimmy Simpson, Sherry Gooch and Carolyn Simpson.

He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Simpson (Eryn), Ricky Simpson (Brodi) and Stephen Simpson; his grandchildren, Lily Hutchens, Lukas Simpson, Silas Simpson and Maverick Simpson; his great grandchildren, Brantley Hutchens, Malarie Hutchens and Layah Hutchens; his brother Timothy Simpson; and his sisters-in-law, Jamie Taylor and Connie Simpson.
