He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Pilkilton and Beatrice Pilkilton (McElyea); and his siblings, Donald Pilkilton, Helen, Ida, Estelle, Lena, Dorothy and Barbara.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Cole Pilkilton; his sons, Danny Pilkilton (Anna) and Denzil Pilkilton (Adrian); his siblings, Marty Pilkilton (Lula), David Pilkilton (Sue), Jimmy Pilkilton (Anita) and Wanda Pilkilton Sprague; his grandchildren, Blair Pilkilton, Reagan Pilkilton and Kenley Pilkilton; his great grandchildren, Zayden, Hendrix, Kaislyn, Ezra, Leif, Sophie, Jaycee and Kayson; and his close friend Clyde Sizemore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hook Street Baptist Church Children's Church.
