He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Holmes; and his parents, Hoyt Holmes and Sybil Holmes. He is survived by: his children, Paul Holmes, Jr. and Michelle Hobgood. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gilliam Spring Baptist Church Cemetery (1607 Gilliam Springs Cemetery Arab, AL 35016).
