He was predeceased by : his parents, Claudia Hawkins and Edward Hawkins; and his wife Mary Sue Nance. He is survived by : his daughters, Alisa Hawkins Rosen of Los Angeles and Donna Hawkins of Hampton, VA; his grandchildren, Ava Stewart, Satori Rosen, Bodhi Rosen and Jahi Gains; and his siblings, Malinda Hawkins, George, Irvin Hawkins, Edna Hawkins Copeland, Sarah, Perry, Curtis, Harold and Jesse Hawkins.
