He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew "Drew" and Maggie Roberts Phillips; his wife Carolyn Conway Phillips; his brothers, Charles Wayne, Donald Ray "Duck" Franklin and William Andrew Murray; and his grandchildren, Sarah Grace and James Robert.
He is survived by: his daughters, Crystal Borders (Trevor) of Blythe, GA, Maggie Nichole Turberville (James Robert) of Perdido, AL and Sarah Michelle Sheets (William) of Huxford, AL; and his siblings, Jerry Phillips (Faye) of Vinemont, AL, Ernestine Roberts of Atmore, Judy Peak (Jamie) of Pine Grove, AL and Myrtle Daszczuk of Elberta, AL. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
