It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benjamin Asbury Harris of Valley, Alabama, who passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Desi B Harris and Odessa Pollard Harris; his sisters, Betty Jean Malone and Dessa Mackey; and his grandchildren, Jacalvis Darden and Trinity Robinson.
He is survived by: his children, Altanua "Tammy" Darden (Calvin), Shorod Harris, Sonja Lovelace DeLoney (Otis), Octavious Benjamin Sims and Shamilya Dawson; and his caregivers, Otis DeLoney and Cynthia Lloyd. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and, a host of nieces, nephews.
