Iris Downs Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2025, at the age of 74, Iris Downs (Valley, Alabama) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Iris may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jonnie Ray Taylor and Guy Morgan Ray, Sr.; her husband Carl Wayne Downs; and her sister Dana Ray Johnson (Iris). She is also survived by nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home (3700 20th Ave, Valley, AL 36854). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel (3700 20th Ave, Valley, AL 36854).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made First Christian Church of Riverview in Valley.
