He was predeceased by: his parents, John Albert Emfinger and Cathryn Johnson Emfinger; his wife Frances Lanelle Smith Emfinger; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Arnold Cook. He is survived by: his sisters, Marlene McCollum (John), Laura King (Bill) and Kathy Ragsdale; his children, John Emfinger (Susie) of Brandon, Mississippi, Cheryl Cook (Jeff) of Winter Garden, Florida and Bruce Emfinger (Ellen) of Valley, Alabama.; his grandchildren, Robin Williams (Mike), Allison Vanterpool (Nyah), Rachel Mahoney (Philip), Jennifer Cook, Ansley Emfinger, Regan Emfinger and John Emfinger (Kendall); and his great grandchildren, Harper Bradshaw, Hadley Bradshaw, Collins Mahoney, James Mahoney, Maggie Mahoney and John Preston. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel (3700 20th Ave, Valley, AL 36854). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
