He was predeceased by : his parents, George Harley Maples and Hattie B Maples (Thelma Spriggs Maples). He is survived by : his sons, Gil Maples (Nancy) and Lee Maples (Yang); his grandchildren, Janna Maples, Adam and Brooke Maples; and his great grandchild Olivia Blake Maples.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wilburn's name to the Fairfax Methodist Church. or Compassus Hospice.
