He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oscar Lee and Verlon Mullins Deavers; his wife Ann Griffin Deavers; his children, Derek Brendon Deavers (Leslee) and Melanie Deavers Langner (Don); his grandchildren, Katherine Langner, Natalia Smith (Elliot), Valentina Taylor (Charlie), Wil Langner, Garret Deavers (Whitney), Grant Deavers (Taylor), Gabriel Deavers and Greyson Deavers; his great grandchildren, Kadyn Deavers, Emmy Lou Deavers and Billie Ann Deavers; his siblings, Jeff Deavers (Denise), Joan Jones Parrish, Lester Deavers, Myra Lee Deavers, Elsie Hill and Ozelle Mims; Derek (Jimmy Simpler).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chestnut Creek Baptist Church (12050 Co Rd 24, Verbena, AL 36091). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
