He was predeceased by: his parents, Bradford Merchant and Ruby Gray O'Mary Merchant; and the mother of his children Patricia Fay "Pat" Merchant. He is survived by: his children, Gabriel Merchant of Columbus, MS, Wayne Merchant, Jr. (Jennifer) of Columbus, MS and April Bareis of Dallas, TX.; his sister Patsy McGee of Millport, AL.; his grandchildren, Olivia Merchant, Makayla Merchant, Jashun Taylor, Ethan Merchant and Henry Bareis; his stepgrandson David Wayne Bonner; and his great grandchild Novah Clark.
