He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodie Gideon and Lena Falkner Gideon. He is survived by: his wife Judy Barnes Gideon of Vernon, AL; his daughters, Diane Wilson (James) of Vernon, AL, Barbara Smith (Jerry) of Dothan, AL and Tina Quinn (Johnny) of Sulligent, AL.; his grandchildren, Tim Wilson (Susan), Teresa Sanford (Brad), Chris Smith, Erin Criddle (Markus) and Landon Quinn; his great grandchildren, Terri Rodriguez (Colton), Garrett Sanford (Macy), Brady Sanford (Kara), Bryant Smith, Tessa Pennington (Collin), Emilee Smith, Jaxon Criddle and Ava Grace Criddle; his stepgreat-grandchild Keegan Shelley; and his grandchildren, Walker Pennington of Step, GG and Jude Watson. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, and Special Friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Freewill Chapel Freewil Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at the Wofford Cemetery.
