He was predeceased by: his parents, James Washington and Stella Enoch Sykes; and his brothers, Eugene Sykes, Donald Sykes, Paul Washington, Harold Sykes and Willie Sykes.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Washington of Vernon, AL; his daughters, Debra Jenkins (William) of Vernon, AL and Elixabeth Washington (Mike) of Montgomery, AL; his grandsons, Alex Jenkins Pittsburgh (Brianna) and Latrell Jenkins (Sarah) of Tuscaloosa, AL; his great grandchild Winston Jenkins of Pittsburgh, PA; his siblings, Johnny Sykes of Tuscaloosa, AL and Clara Sykes of Augusta, GA; and his sister-in-law Helen Walker of Vernon, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
