He is survived by: his wife Sandra Hopkins of Vernon, AL; his children, Russell Scott Knight of Madison, AL and Christy Causey of Vernon, AL.; his brothers, Mark Hopkins (Nikol) and John Hopkins (Teresa) of Huntsville, AL; his nephew Bret Ballard (Shannon) of Greenwood Springs, MS; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jordan Ledbetter (Aaron), Andrew Gann (Allison), Garrett McDonald (Camille), Carl Ballard, Krissa Ballard, Chase Ballard and Chance BallardHost.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Detroit Church of Christ (65181 AL-17, Detroit, AL 35552). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at the Friendship Cemetery.
