With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vivian Thompson Marks of Vestavia, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 20, 2025 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lucious Thompson and Lillie D. Thompson; her brother John L. Thompson Jr.; and her former husband Floyd Bell Marks (FB). She is survived by: her siblings, Iva Thompson Lambert, Samuel G. Thompson and Frances Thompson Bell; her husband James "Jimmy" K. Owens Jr.; her children, James K. Owens III (Jim) and Yolande Virginia Howell (Ginger); her children-in-law, Lynne Strickland Owens and Evan Stuart Howell; her grandchildren, James K. Owens IV (Jay), Joseph Benjamin Owens (Rachel), Daniel H. Klein (Dani) and Rachel Beatrice Klein; and her great grandchildren, April Juliette Owens (April) and Anthony James Owens (Tony).
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 9:45 AM at the Valhalla Cemetery (839 Wilkes Rd, Birmingham, AL 35228). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Brookwood Baptist Church (3449 Overton Rd, Mountain Brook, AL 35223).
