She was predeceased by : her parents, Samuel Sanford and Avery; her husbands, Bob Thomas and Bill Rigsby; her siblings, Earline Cooper, Etta Mae Browning, Gwen Knight, Gemeril Perrin (Mutt), Sammy Nell Smith and Roland Sanford; and her grandson Joey Lynn Thomas.

She is survived by : her children, Jennifer Drummond, Pamela Pate (Jeff), Rosemary Yates, Jeffrey Rigsby (Lisa), Joseph Thomas, George Thomas and John Paul Thomas (Angel); and her siblings, Linda Sue Harris and Edward Sanford. She is also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren.
