She was predeceased by : her parents, L. A. Hughes and Geneva Hughes; her husband Lathal Sloan; her children, Nathan Sloan and Kayla Sloan; and her brother Michael Hughes.

She is survived by : her sons, Darrell Sloan (Susan) and Gerald Sloan (Connie); her grandchildren, Reed Massengill (Taylor), Johnny Dale Spence, Jared Sloan, Nathan Sloan (Madison Mindler), Nick Sloan (Katie), Nelson Sloan (Rebecca) and Noble Sloan; and her great grandchildren, Levi Massengill, Luke Massengill, Isaiah Sloan and Riley Sloan.
