She was predeceased by: her husband Max C. Jacobs; her parents, Claude Thomas and Amner Thomas; her siblings, Maynard, Kathleen, John, Ruth, Robert and Avaleen; and her granddaughters, Megan Cook and Tasha Cook.

She is survived by: her children, Joel Jacobs (Rita), Rhonda Bailey (Matt), Pam Collins (Ronnie) and Debra Cook (Michael); her grandchildren, AJ "Mandy" Ingram, Ronnie Collins III, Marcia Wilson, Alan Collins, Carl Jimmerson, Jeramy Cook, Courtney Jacobs, Jennifer Cross, Shelby Edwards, Codey Jacobs, Kaleb Jacobs, Justin Jacobs, Kaitlin Butler, James Andrew Bailey and Evan Collins; and her brothers, Alfred, Daniel, Matthew and Stephen. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren.
