He was predeceased by: his wife Jenny Sims; his grandson Chase Sims; and his parents, Winford Sims and Julia Sims. He is survived by: his children, David Gary Sims, April Combs and Gina Thompson; his grandchildren, Ashlie Estes, Julie Sims, Katelyn Sims, Lyndee Sims, Caleb Thompson, Hailey Thompson and Anndalyn Hartselle; his great grandchildren, Keeleigh Holt, Malakai Sims, Greyson Jones, Ariella Jones, Ivyana Jones, Karlee Prater, Kainan Prater and Wesson Smith; and his sisters, Dorathy Pruitt, Linda Hardy and Alice Ervin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Anniston Memorial Funeral Home (3865 US-431, Anniston, AL 36206). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
