He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Messer and Katherine Johnson Messer. He is survived by: his children, Valerie Melancon (Todd) of Thibodaux, LA and Branden Messer of Ranburne; his grandchild Reese Melancon; and his siblings, Tammie Wood of Roanoke, Katherine Williams of Wedowee, Linda Butts (Gary) of Springfield, MO, Wayne Messer of Roanoke and Tim Messer of Woodland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
