He was predeceased by: his mother Ida Mae Thompson; and his wife Sandra Ella Powell. He is survived by: his children, Pamela, Cathy, Peter and Cedric Powell; his grandchildren, Antwanisha, Anthony Jr., Joshua, Alyssa, Penelope, Ga'Niyia and Abigail; and his sister Carolyn Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (722 Martin Luther King Ln, West Blocton, AL 35184). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
