He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Milton and Thelma Farmer McWhorter; and his siblings, Spencer, Ottis, Jack McWhorter and Nadeen McWhorter.
He is survived by: his children, George McWhorter and Sharon N. King (Leslie); his grandchildren, Patrick McWhorter (Jessica) and Shayla Hoff (Shelby); his brother James McWhorter (Diane); and his sisters-in-law, Mary and Jeanette McWhorter. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
